Brown gives Jamaica 300 lead

KINGSTON, Jamaica, Feb 17, CMC – Donovan Pagon’s fourth first class century and a five-wicket haul from leg-spinner Odean Brown did the job for Jamaica and left Leeward Islands needing a miracle to avoid defeat in their third round clash of the Regional Four-Day Championship on Friday.

The right-handed Pagon stroked a fine 155 to steer Jamaica to an imposing 404 for eight declared and Brown then snatched five wickets for just six runs in a lethal nine-over spell as the Leewards tumbled for a paltry 104 on the second day at Sabina Park.

Narine, Fidel share bowling honours

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – Off-spinner Sunil Narine’s four-wicket haul restricted Barbados and gave Trinidad and Tobago the advantage on the second day of their Regional 4Day match on Friday.

The 26-year-old finished with four for 69, a spell that left Barbados on 254 for seven at the close, in reply to Trinidad and Tobago’s 338 all out at Kensington Oval.

Earlier, captain Denesh Ramdin got 88 and Rayad Emrit hit 62 as T&T, resuming the day on 293 for six, lost their last four wickets for the addition of just 45 runs.
