Guyana take lead over Leewards

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Guyana’s bowlers, led by Anthony Adams, set things up, and their batting, starring newcomer Chanderpaul Hemraj, helped the hosts claim first innings points over Leeward Islands in the WICB Regional Under-19 Championship on Monday.

Adams collected four wickets for 16 runs from 7.2 overs, and Amir Khan snared three for 39 from eight overs, as Leewards, choosing to bat, were dismissed for 107 in their first innings inside the first hour after lunch on the opening day of their first round match.

Creary on 73 as Jamaica bat well

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Teswayne Creary and John Campbell indulged themselves, as Jamaica’s batsmen dug in against Trinidad & Tobago in the WICB Regional Under-19 Championship on Monday.

Creary led the way with an unbeaten 73 and Campbell hit 55, as the Jamaicans, sent in to bat, reached 278 for six in their first innings at the close on the opening day of their first round match at Everest.

Greaves (6-33) leads Bajan fightback

Georgetown, Guyana, CMC – Justin Greaves upstaged a memorable spell from left-arm spinner Larry Edward and a half-century from Dwight Thomas bowling Barbados back into their WICB Regional Under-19 match on Monday, putting them on the brink of a first innings lead over reigning champions Windward Islands.
