Narine - Bring on Australia

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – West Indies off-spinner Sunil Narine believes he is learning quickly and says his first taste of international cricket last December has put him in good stead to face Australia in the one-day series starting Friday.

Gonsalves welcomes teams to St Vincent

Kingstown, St Vincent – The West Indies and Australia cricket teams got a warm and friendly welcome to the island of St Vincent at the official launch of the Digicel Series on Tuesday night.

The two teams were special guests at the function hosted by Dr Julian Hunte, President of the West Indies Cricket Board. The event was held at official residence of the Prime Minister of St Vincent & the Grenadines, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, who was joint host.

Eager Baugh playing for keeps

Kingstown, St Vincent — Carlton Baugh believes that the hard work he has put in recent years and his positive attitude are what have brought him back into the West Indies. The small keeper has a new attitude and approach to fitness and his overall game and he has reaped the rewards.

Last Sunday Baugh was called up as a replacement for Denesh Ramdin, who sustained a fractured right thumb while at the team camp in Barbados. He is expected to be out of action for a minimum of two weeks.

Windies hit the ground running

Kingstown, St Vincent – A confident West Indies team arrived in St Vincent on Monday afternoon ready for the start of the five-match Digicel One-Day International Series against Australia.

The Windies were entertained with steel pan music before heading to the team hotel. It was a typical warm Vincy welcome as the island prepares to host international cricket for the first time since 2010.
