Aussies win toss, batting vs WI in third Test

ROSEAU, Dominica – Australia won the toss and chose to bat against West Indies on the opening day of the third and final Digicel Test on Monday at Windsor Park.

For the Windies, Ravi Rampaul comes in to play his first match of the series, replacing fellow fast bowler Fidel Edwards, whose stiff back has put him on the sidelines.

Windies girls ready for Sri Lanka

Cave Hill, Barbados -- The West Indies women’s cricketers have been putting in the work at a camp at the Sagicor High Performance Centre with the target of bettering Sri Lanka in the upcoming eight-match series.

Coach Sherwin Campbell expressed great satisfaction with the camp where the emphasis has been on the batting in view of dealing with the expected slow bowling from the Asian team.

Shane to create history at home

Roseau, Dominica — Shane Shillingford is set to create history on Monday when he becomes the first Dominican to play a Test match on home soil.  The tall off-spinner bowled well against the Australians on his comeback to international cricket in Trinidad last week and is expected to retain his place in the team for the all-important third and final Digicel Test at his home ground.

Fudadin arrives with confidence

Roseau, Dominica — It has been a long journey from the playing field at the Rose Hall Cricket Club to the West Indies team, but Assad Fudadin has made that journey and now he is looking to take more strides forward.

The confident left-hander had his first day among his new team-mates in the West Indies camp on Saturday, as the Windies prepared for the all-important third Digicel Test against Australia at Windsor Park. First ball on Monday is 10 am (9 am Jamaica Time).
