Squad

Roach back in the groove with 4/34

North Sound, Antigua – Kemar Roach made a comfortable and successful return to top-flight cricket with a brilliant bowling performance for the West Indies Cricket Board’s President’s XI against New Zealand.

Deonarine at his best with 106

North Sound, Antigua, CMC – Left-hander Narsingh Deonarine staked his claim ahead of the opening Digicel Test against New Zealand starting Wednesday, with a stroked-filled century on the second day of the three-day match against the tourists here Saturday.

Deonarine, who lost his Test place on the recent tour of England, scored 106 as the West Indies Cricket Board President’s XI finished the day on 299 for seven. Earlier, New Zealand were dismissed for 149 after starting the day on 137 for eight at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

Windies to end Australia's summer

South Africa will play a Gabba Test for the first time in 49 years and Sri Lanka will return to the MCG for their first Boxing Day Test since Muttiah Muralitharan was no-balled for throwing in 1995, as part of Australia's international schedule for 2012-13.

Roach marks his return with four-for

North Sound, Antigua – Fast bowler Kemar Roach made a successful return to action following injury. He bowled incredibly well to earn a four-wicket haul to limit New Zealand on a rain-hit opening day of the three-day tour match against the WICB President’s XI on Friday.

The 24-year-old finished with four for 28 as New Zealand, sent in to bat, struggled to 137 for eight on a day which was halted by five stoppages for rain and ended by bad lights at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
