Following are the scores at lunch on Day 1 of the Third Round of the WICB Regional 4 Day Tournament:

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, Feb 18, CMC – Jamaica, sent in to bat, reached 111 for two in their first innings at lunch on the opening day of their third round match against Barbados on Friday at Kensington Oval.

Scores: JAMAICA 110 for two (Danza Hyatt 71 not out; Jason Holder 2-17) vs BARBADOS

Baugh & Barath out for 2/3 weeks; Edwards & Thomas on standby

St John’s, Antigua– The West Indies Cricket Board confirms that Carlton Baugh and Adrian Barath have sustained hamstring injuries.

Medical specialists have determined that in both cases the players will not be able to resume training for two to three weeks.

The WICB, through the Team Manager, is therefore making an application to the ICC Technical Committee for Baugh and Barath to be replaced in the West Indies World Cup squad.

The players who have been put on standby as replacements are Kirk Edwards and Devon Thomas.

Dhaka, Bangladesh - The 10th edition of the Cricket World Cup got off to a spectacular start with a superb opening ceremony on Thursday evening.

West Indies skipper Darren Sammy was among the 14 team captains who took centre during the three-hour cultural and musical presentation in front of 21,000 people in Dhaka’s Bangabandhu Stadium. Also present were several other team officials including West Indies Team Manager Richie Richardson.

Colombo – West Indies captain Darren Sammy shares the view that spin bowling will play a major role in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.

Speaking after the Windies second warm-up match against Sri Lanka, Sammy backed his slow bowlers to perform on the big stage.

Colombo, Sri Lanka, CMC – West Indies went down to Sri Lanka by four wickets in their second ICC Cricket World Cup match on Tuesday night. Batting first after winning the toss on a placid pitch, the Windies rattled up 281-9 off their 20 overs – their highest score on tour so far. The bowlers were however unable to limit the Sri Lanka batsmen who reached 282-6 to win with 15 balls remaining at the refurbished R Premadasa Stadium.
