Roseau, Dominica – Danny Briggs and Adil Rashid spun the England Lions to a comprehensive 258-run victory over Windward Islands in the WICB Regional first-class championship.

Briggs, the left-arm spinner, collected 6-45 runs from 23 overs, and leg-spinner Rashid captured 4-19 from 14.4 overs, as Windwards, set 356 for victory, were dismissed for 97 on the final day of their sixth round match at Windsor Park.

Hat-tricks for Collins and Athanaze as Barbados beat Leewards

North Sound, Antigua – Pedro Collins spurred Barbados to a dramatic six-wicket victory over Leeward Islands with a memorable hat-trick in the WICB First-Class championship on Sunday.

The experienced left-arm pacer removed opener Gavin Williams, Leewards captain Steve Liburd, and newcomer Kerry Mentore in successive balls, as Leewards, leading by 26 on first innings, were dismissed for 82 in their second innings about half-hour after the lunch interval on the third day of their sixth round match at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

Chennai, India – West Indies suffered another batting collapse as they fell to India by 80 runs in their final ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 Group B match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk.

The Windies slipped from 154-2 in the 31st over to be bowled out for 188 with 42 balls left in reply to India’s 268 all out in 49.1 overs. The weak batting undid a career-best spell from fast bowler Ravi Rampaul, in his first World Cup match, and another fine innings from Devon Smith, the in-form left-handed opener.
