Narine up for ICC award

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka, CMC- West Indies off spinner Sunil Narine is among four cricketers shortlisted for the International Cricket Council emerging player of the year award, the ICC announced on Thursday.

The 24 year old Trinidadian who made his test debut in June this year has been named with three other shortlisted nominees -New Zealand’s Doug Bracewell, Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Chandimal, and Australia’s James Pattinson.

Windies are a "powerhouse"

Delhi, India, CMC - Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly has identified West Indies among teams to pose the biggest threat to India’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's dream of lifting his second Twenty20 World Cup title.

Dhoni led India to the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007 and lifted the 50-over World Cup on home soil last year. India will head to Sri Lanka for the September 18 to October 7 event as one of the favourites but Ganguly remains wary of the West Indies' skills in the shortest form of the sport.

St John’s Antigua — The West Indies Cricket Board’s Selection Panel today named the West Indies 15-man squad for the International Cricket Council’s World T20 Tournament in Sri Lanka in September.
