Darren Bravo plans to keep it simple

Colombo, Sri Lanka – The West Indies have assembled some of the leading power-hitters of the modern era in their 15-man squad for the ICC World T20 tournament.

Dynamic Dwayne bringing A-game

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Dwayne Bravo is confident he can rediscover the form which saw him produce one of the best allround displays in the short history of the ICC World T20 tournament. Back in 2009, Bravo took four wickets and made a match-winning half-century as the Windies outplayed India at Lord’s.
In that match Bravo had two career-best performances. He bowled first change and took 4-38 – the wickets of Gautam Gambhir, MS Dhoni, and brothers Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan.

Mendis specials sink Zimbabwe

What one Mendis began, another finished as Sri Lanka handed Zimbabwe a thumping 82-run loss at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium on Monday night.

Brendan Taylor was quite categorical about his team’s chances a day before the tournament opener. “If we bat, bowl and field to our potential, we’ll give ourselves half a chance of beating Sri Lanka,” he said, and those words turned out to be prophetic in the worst possible way. After putting Sri Lanka in, Zimbabwe bowled the wrong areas, had a complete shocker on the field and never quite recovered.
