Richardson: Sehwag was exceptional

Indore, India — West Indies Team Manager Richie Richardson has termed Virender Sehwag's historic 219 as an “exceptional knock”.

Sehwag became just the second man in history to score 200 in an ODI and made a world-record against the West Indies on Thursday night at the Holkar Cricket Stadium as India won the fourth ODI to take a 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

Indore, India — Virender Sehwag blasted the highest individual score in the history of One-Day Internationals to secure India a big 153-run series-clinching victory over West Indies in the fourth ODI on Thursday night.

The crowd at the Holkar Cricket Stadium witnessed two milestones as Sehwag’s breath-taking 219 off 149 balls. He smashed seven sixes and 25 fours to power the home side to 418-5, their highest ever ODI total.

Indore - India captain, Virender Sehwag, won the toss in the 4th One Day International and chose to bat first.

There are just two changes in the match, one for each side. For the West Indies, Darren Bravo, who sustained a hamstring injury in the 3rd One Day International has been replaced by Kieran Powell, while for the home team, leg-spinner Rahul Sharma has been handed a debut.

Indore, India — For the second time in four days, West Indies face a crucial test of their mettle as they seek to win the fourth One-Day International against India on Thursday and stay alive in the five-match series.

The Caribbean side faced the same daunting task on Monday but came through with flying colours with a 16-run win Ahmedabad.
Now, they must lift themselves again physically and mentally, to face an India side anxious to close out the series after winning the first two games last week.

Windies fired up for "massive" Game 4

Indore, India — West Indies will look to make it two wins in a row when they meet India in the fourth One-Day International at the Holkar Stadium on Thursday. A victory for the Windies would see them draw level 2-2 in the five-match series.

Speaking on Wednesday, captain Darren Sammy said the 16-run victory over India at the Sardar Patel Gujarat in Ahmedabad on Monday night, provided a much needed boost for his young team.

First ball in Thursday’s day-night match is 2.30 pm (5 am Eastern Caribbean Time/4 am Jamaica Time).
