Samuels and Roach to play for HPC

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados – West Indies players Marlon Samuels and Kemar Roach have been named in the Sagicor West Indies High Performance Centre squad to play against Zimbabwe this week.

The three-day contest will be played from Thursday to Saturday at the Desmond Haynes Oval at the Carlton Cricket Club complex and will be a minimum of 90 overs per day.

GCB given deadline to show ability

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board has announced that it had given the Guyana Cricket Board a deadline of March 7th 2013 to advise on its ability to host the West Indies v Pakistan First Test slated for July.

The GCB had been advised of the deadline on February 16th last.

Condolences to family of Sam Guillen

Gros Islet, St Lucia – President Dr. Julian Hunte has sent condolences on behalf of the West Indies Cricket Board to the family of former Test player Simpson ‘Sam’ Guillen who passed last Friday in New Zealand.

North Sound, Antigua – World T20 champions West Indies had things all their way for the second day in a row as they easily beat Zimbabwe by 41 runs to win the second T20 International on Sunday.

Man-of-the-Match Samuel Badree took a career-best 3-17 off four overs as the Windies won the weekend doubleheader 2-0 at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.

Pollard, Badree help WI sweep series

NORTH SOUND, Antigua – World champions West Indies made the most of Zimbabwe’s lacklustre performance to win the final Twenty20 International by 41 runs and sweep the two-match series here Sunday.
