WICB decisions re Guyana Situation

St John’s, Antigua – The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board held a meeting by teleconference last evening. The Executive Committee discussed the Guyana Situation and noted the following points:

UNICEF joins WICB to help coaches

BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC – UNICEF has hailed its partnership with the West Indies Cricket Board after jointly staging a training course on child protection for cricket coaches here Friday.

The course was conducted at the Sagicor High Performance Centre at the UWI Cave Hill Campus and was attended by Territorial Development Officers, Development Officers and Level 2 coaches from the Caribbean.

Mohammed, Narine break into WI ODI squad

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board Selection Committee has named Trinidadian duo of Jason Mohammed and Sunil Narine on the West Indies 15 man squad to face India in five One Day Internationals starting on November 30th.

The 25 year old right handed Mohammed emerged as the Player of the Tournament in the recently concluded Regional Super50 and also won the Richie Richardson Trophy for top batsman of the tournament.

Arnos Vale hosts 3 Digicel ODIs in 2012

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board today announced the schedule for the Digicel Series 2012 and the picturesque Arnos Vale Cricket Ground will host the first three Digicel One Day Internationals when West Indies take on Australia in March and April next year.

The Digicel Series 2012 includes a total of five Digicel ODIs, two Digicel Twenty20s and three Digicel Tests and will be hosted in five countries across the region.

The Digicel Tests will be played at Kensington Oval, Queen’s Park Oval and the Guyana National Stadium.
