Westmoreland clip St James in JCA Senior Cup

Kingston, Jamaica - Westmoreland CA laboured to a four-wicket win over St James CA at the Trelawny Multi-Purpose Stadium yesterday in Zone A of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) two-day Senior Cup competition.
Westmoreland resumed their first innings from an overnight 190-5 after dismissing St James for 153 on Saturday. However, Westmoreland could only manage a further 37 runs and were dismissed for 227.
St James, batting a second time, made only 99, but Westmoreland were made to scrap for every run, in reaching 26-6 for the victory.

In Zone B, two spinners stole the show as St Catherine CC beat GC Foster College by five wickets in a low-scoring clash at Chedwin Park.
St Catherine CC resumed on 147-6 yesterday and went on to declare on 171-9, just one run ahead of GC Foster's first innings score.
Wayne Morgan (54) and Shacoya Thomas (50) were the top run-getters in the St Catherine innings.
Batting a second time, GC Foster were bundled out for 95, leaving the hosts to canter to 95-5.

In Zone C, the Jamaica Defence Force beat Police by 95 runs in the clash of the security forces at the Elletson Road playing field.
Rasheed Outar made 122 in JDF's second innings score of 209 all out.

Also in Zone C, the home team St Mary CA came from behind to stun St Ann CA by two wickets in the exciting clash at Palmers Park.
Resuming on 80-3 in their second innings, St Ann posted 289-7 declared thanks to Eugene Hudson's 102 not out.
Faced with a mountainous target, St Mary pulled out an unlikely win courtesy of Robert Weir's 109, and Herman Henry's 94.

St Thomas CA fought back yesterday, but lost to Melbourne CC by six wickets in Zone D action at Melbourne Oval.
Melbourne, resuming on their overnight 260-4, ended on 370-8 with Andre McCarthy top-scoring with 113. He hit 17 fours and two sixes.
Batting a second time, St Thomas made 233 with Jowayne Robinson leading the way with 57.
Needing 72 for victory, Melbourne scampered to 72-4 as Tareque White, who made 93 in the first innings, stroked an unbeaten 32.

At the Collie Smith Complex, Kingston CC walloped Boys' Town by 380 runs in a lop-sided Zone D encounter.
Lionel Morant blasted 122 not out to help Kingston to 304 in their second innings after they resumed yesterday on 95-1.
Left-arm spinner Patrick Harty then had 5-42 to help dismiss Boys' Town for only 68.
