Waterford CC unbeaten

Portmore, Jamaica - Waterford CC ended 2013 as the only unbeaten team in the competition after their hard-fought 26-run victory over Hamilton Gardens in a Wray & Nephew White Rum Portmore Cricket Association (PCA) T20 Club Championships at Bridgeport ground last Sunday.

Waterford made 139-6 (20 overs) and was led by the league's top batsman, Richard Allen, with 57 from 54 balls, and Marvin Lobban 26. Kemar Isaacs (2-24) and Quinnie McKinson (2-31) shared four wickets for Hamilton Gardens.

Hamilton Gardens in reply ran out of overs and finished on 113-3 off 17.4 overs. Erron Downer (86) and Oshane Mills (55 not out) made the most runs for Hamilton Gardens. Robert Herron (2-22) was the victors' top bowler.

Waterford is on top of Zone A on 20 points from five matches, followed by GC Foster (16) and Hamilton (12).

In the opening game at the venue, Zone A outsider, Braeton Red Caps, moved into fourth position on 12 points from five matches following their seven-wicket win over Greater Portmore. The match was reduced to 16 overs.
