Vince hits century in Hampshire batting spree against UWI

Bridgetown, Barbados - James Vince hit an unbeaten century and there were half-centuries for England Test opener Michael Carberry and James Adams as Hampshire batsmen enjoyed themselves in a two-day 2014 Counties pre-season practice match against a University of West Indies team at the North Stars ground, Crab Hill, St. Lucy on Wednesday and Thursday.

Vince made 111 not out off 138 balls with 15 fours and one six, while Carberry scored 85 off 99 balls, counting 16 boundaries and his opening partner and captain Adams weighed in with 73 from 155 deliveries including ten fours.

Adams retired not out in a total of 364 for one off 90 overs.

UWI responded with 318 in 83.3 overs. Wicket-keeper/batsman Collis Worrell topscored with 75 off 109 balls including 11 fours, while Kyle Hope made 62 off 89 deliveries with eight fours and one six.

Ruel Brathwaite, the former Queen's College and Barbados Under-19 team fast bowler, took two for 27 off nine overs.
