Vicram Suebarran is new president of PMCC

Georgetown, Guyana - Vicram Suebarran is the new president of the Port Mourant Cricket Club (PMCC).
He was elected when the club held its elections for office bearers on February 5 at the Port Mourant Community Centre.
Suebarran, who owns the Universal Titans Cricket Club, is a newcomer to the club’s executives. Former President Gregory Persaud is now the new vice president, replacing Satynand Persaud.
Godwyn Allicock was returned as the secretary.
Two new faces on the executive are Treasurer Andrew Rahaman and Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Mahendra Ramdihal.
Over the years, the PMCC has referred to itself a Berbice›s most famous cricket club and has produced outstanding Berbice, Guyana and West Indies cricketers, such as Basil Butcher, Alvin Kallicharran, Rohan Kanhai, Ivan Madray, Mahendra Nagamootoo, Joe Solomon and John Trim.
The famous Etwaroo brothers – Romain, Reginald and Tyrone – were also members of the PMCC.
The club also boasts a rich past and had a successful 2013. Among the success of PMCC is its production of numerous captains of the Guyana youth team.
These are Radhay Solomon – 1974; Deonarine Persaud – 1981; Arjune Nandu – 1991; Andre Percival – 1992-94, winning the regional title on each occasion; Mahendra Nagamootoo – 1995, when Guyana won the regional title; Vishal Nagamootoo – 1996, when Guyana again won the regional title; and Zamal Khan – 2004.
