Umpires to stand in T20 play-off

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates – West Indian umpires Gregory Brathwaite and Joel Wilson will be officiating in a major match in the ICC World Twenty20 qualifier on Saturday.

The pair will be involved in the third and fourth placed play-off match at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Wilson, who hails from Trinidad, will be standing alongside Ranmore Martinesz of Sri Lanka. Brathwaite, who hails from Barbados, will be the reserve umpire for the match.

The West Indian officials have been part of the tournament from the start two weeks ago.

Wilson, 46, has stood in 10 One-Day Internationals and nine T20 Internationals since his first match back in 2011.

Brathwaite, who turns 44 on December 9, has so far stood in 10 ODIs and six T20Is since his debut back international debut back in 2011.

Earlier this year he was part of the match officials group at the ICC Women’s World Cup in India.
