U-19 women’s cricket bowls off today

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - The Loretta Eligon led Trinidad and Tobago cricket team will open their campaign of a TT Women’s Cricket Association (TTWCA) U-19 women’s T20 tournament against a Board XI at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain Couva from 2:30 today.

The tournament is geared towards the continuous development of players to ensure a pool from which Trinidad and Tobago and territorial boards could showcase their outstanding players, exposing them to competition, and ultimately provide a cadre of players, capable of being considered for the West Indies.

Barbados, Guyana and St Lucia are the other teams taking part in the tournament.

All players for this tournament must not have attained the age of 20 years before July 23, 2013. Matches will be played at four (4) venues:- Honeymoon Park El Dorado; Buggy Haynes Ground, Trincity; Caldrac, Couva and the National Cricket Centre, Couva. 

The opening match will see the Board XI taking on St Lucia at NCC while Barbados will do battle against Guyana at Caldrac, with both matches starting from 9:30 am.
