Ticket prices: West Indies versus England

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced ticket prices for admission to all matches in the up-coming England Tour to the Caribbean, in which the First Test against the West Indies opens at Sabina Park, Jamaica, on Wednesday, February 4th.

England arrive in St. Kitts on January 21st for the Digicel Series 2009, which involves four (4) Test Matches, five (5) ODIs and one (1) Twenty20 International.

Trinidad and Tobago pick three new boys to face Barbados

PORT OF SPAIN ­-- Three newcomers have been named in the Trinidad and Tobago squad for the opening match of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Four-day Regional Tournament, set to bowl off on January 9.

Left-handed batsman Justin Guillen has earned a call up, while former West Indies Under-19 off-spinner Sunil Narine and fast bowler Atiba Alert, have also been included after a series of impressive performances.

WICB to fund Regional 4-Day Competition

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced that the 2009 four-day regional tournament will feature a home and away format, which guarantees that first class players will now have the opportunity to play at least ten (10) first class matches a year.

An official release, issued by the WICB today (Sunday) pointed out that one of the key objectives of the Board’s Five Year Strategic Plan is to increase the number of first class matches through longer tournaments.

Off-spinner takes all 10 in T&T trials

PORT OF SPAIN -- Sunil Narine, the former West Indies Under-19 spinner captured all 10 wickets on the opening day of a four-day, national trial match here Thursday. Narine, who represented West Indies at the Under-19 World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006, finished with the remarkable figures of 21.1-4-55-10. The 20-year-old off-spinner took 10 for 55 for Rayad Emrit’s XI as Samuel Badree’s XI were dismissed for 238 all out at the National Cricket Centre. In reply, Emrit’s XI reached 40 for four.

WICB breaks new ground

ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has broken new ground with the hosting of a pre-event seminar for its 2009 Cricket Season.

Held at the Jolly Beach Resort in Antigua on Wednesday, the seminar was part of the Board’s new Strategic Plan Initiative in which the Board has expanded all of its events planning processes to embrace the Territorial Boards across the region.
