Dwayne Bravo signs up to play for Essex Eagles in T20 finale

Dwayne Bravo, the Trinidad and Tobago allrounder and West Indies Vice Captain, has signed on to play for Essex County Cricket Club in the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Friends Provident t20 finals day, subject to visa approval. The Essex Eagles reached the August 14 showpiece at the Rose Bowl courtesy of an eight-wicket demolition of Lancashire Lightning at Chelmsford on Tuesday evening.

Cricket fans have been lining up to get tickets for what is being billed as the biggest match so far of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 Tournament.The ticket office at Queen’s Park Oval has been busy with cricket lovers hoping to grab a front row seat to see home side Trinidad and Tobago do battle against Jamaica in their final Group A preliminary match at Queen’s Park Oval. WICB applauds Windwards for victory in TCL Group Challenge

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has congratulated the Windward Islands team for their triumph in the TCL Group Under-19 Challenge three-day tournament. The Windwards won their first title since 2000 when they defeated the Leeward Islands by seven wickets at Beausejour Cricket Stadium in St Lucia on Monday afternoon. They ended the tournament with 39 points – nine more than second-placed Trinidad and Tobago.

Hard work pays off as Windwards take TCL Group U19 title

The Windward Islands have been crowned kings of the West Indies Cricket Board’s TCL Group Under-19 Challenge three-day tournament. This happened on Monday afternoon when they earned a convincing seven-wicket win over the Leeward Islands at Beausejour Stadium on the third day of the fifth round. Chasing 135 for victory on the final day of the final round, they reached 137-3 just before tea to win the championship with 39 points.
