Free-scoring Cooper and King lead the charge for Trinidad

Kingstown, St Vincent: Trinidad and Tobago have launched a positive reply to the 156 made by St Vincent and the Grenadines in the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League at Arnos Vale Playing Field 1, on Wednesday. At the end of the 30th over the Trinis were on 82-3 off 30 overs with their two main batters at the crease. Britney Cooper is on 21, with a number of powerful boundaries, while left-hander Stacy-Ann King is on 18.

Nero bats through the innings to lead Vincentians to 156-6

Kingstown, St Vincent: Juliana Nero made a brilliant 85 not out as St Vincent and the Grenadines posted a challenging 156-6 off their 50 overs against Trinidad and Tobago in the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League at Arnos Vale Playing Field 1, on Wednesday.

Anisa Mohammed takes 2-10 off 10 overs as Trinis take control

Kingstown, St Vincent: Trinidad and Tobago off-spinner Anisa Mohammed has maintained the pressure on the St Vincent and the Grenadines batters in the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League at Arnos Vale Playing Field 1, on Wednesday. Mohammed, the captain and West Indies player, had the amazing figures of two wickets for 10 runs from 10 overs to limit the home side to 64-3 off 29 overs.

Pollard back home in Trinidad, thanks fans for their well-wishes

Port-of-Spain: West Indies allrounder Kieron Pollard is back home in Trinidad recovering after a blow to the face last weekend while playing for Somerset in the England and Wales Cricket Board Twenty20 tournament. The powerfully-built right-hander was floored by a bouncer from Dominic Cork of Hampshire in the final of the Friend Provident t20 last Saturday.

Trini spinners have Vincentian batters under some pressure

Kingstown, St Vincent: St Vincent and the Grenadines were kept quiet by Trinidad and Tobago’s spinners in the early stages of the final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League at Arnos Vale Playing Field 1, on Wednesday.
The home side reached 45-2 off 19 overs and were under pressure. At the crease were Juliana Nero on 32 and captain Cordel Jack on three. They made 35 off the first 11 overs but managed just 10 runs in the last eight overs from spinners Anisa Mohammed and Gaitri Seetahal to be pegged back.
