Morton & Willett unlikely to take any further part in TT v LI match

St John’s, Antigua – Trinidad and Tobago batsman Runako Morton and Leeward Islands all rounder Tonito Willett are expected to take no further part in the WICB Regional 4 Day Round 5 match at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

The duo was taken into police custody sometime between the end of the first day’s play and the start of the second day’s play of the Trinidad and Tobago v Leeward Islands match. They remain in police custody.

The WICB will make no further comment on this matter at this time.

Leewards v TT venue changed

St John’s, Antigua – The WICB announces that the venue for the Leeward Islands v Trinidad and Tobago Round 5 clash has been changed from the National Cricket Centre in Couva to the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. After the first four rounds of the WICB Regional 4 Day Tournament, Jamaica lead the points standings with 36 points, followed by Trinidad and Tobago (33), England Lions (30) and Combined Campuses and Colleges (27).

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent, CMC – Daren Ganga led a fight-back for Trinidad & Tobago, after Andre Fletcher gathered his third first-class hundred to give Windward Islands first innings points in the WICB Regional first-class championship on Sunday.

Windwards in command

KINGSTOWN, St. Vincent, CMC – Trinidad & Tobago were put on their heels, when Andre Fletcher and Tyrone Theophile gave Windward Islands a confident start in their hunt for first innings points in the WICB Regional first-class championship on Saturday. T&T’s bowlers failed to make much headway, as Fletcher was not out on 49 and Theophile made 47, and the Windwards, replying to T&T’s first innings total of 220, reached 149 for two at the close on the second day of their fourth round match at the Arnos Vale Multi-Purpose Complex.
