Cooper and Lord lead fightback for Trinis against Bajans

Kingstown, St Vincent: Trinidad and Tobago fought back well against Barbados to reach 54-2 in the 17th over against Barbados in the semi-final of the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League on Monday. After being jolted at 7-2, the defending champs recovered thanks to a solid stand between Britney Cooper, who is on 24 not out, and Shenel Lord, who is on 12 not out at Arnos Vale 1.

Vincentians bat first against Jamaicans; Trinis bat first against Bajans

Kingstown, St Vincent: The stage is set for today’s semi-finals in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Women’s 50-Over League. In the first match at Arnos Vale Playing Field 2, Jamaica won the toss and sent St Vincent and the Grenadines in to bat. The Vincentians reached 29-0 at the end of the eighth over. Opener Juliana Nero is on 16 not out.

Kingstown, St Vincent: Jamaica and Barbados showcased their dominance in Zone A as they soundly beat Dominica and St Lucia in the third and final preliminary round of matches in the West Indies Cricket Board's Women's 50-Over League on Sunday. The Bajans bowled out the St Lucians for 47 and trounced then by eight wickets at Arnos Vale Playing Field 2, while the Jamaican dismissed the Dominicans for 41 in a massive win by 148 runs at Stubbs Playing Field.

The home team reached 80-4 at the end of the 37th over in reply to 114 made by Guyana at Arnos Vale Playing Field 1.
