Guyana have point to prove - Sarwan

Georgetown, Guyana – Guyana Captain Ramnaresh Sarwan says that his team has a point to prove in the upcoming Caribbean Twenty20.

“We are the defending T20 champions and we know everyone will be gunning for us after we qualified for the Champions League in South Africa this year. We want to prove our win was no fluke," the elegant right handed middle order batsman said as he looked ahead to the regional showpiece tournament to be staged in Antigua and Barbados from January 10th to the 23rd.

Morton to make debut for TT in CT20

Port-of-Spain, Trinidad – Runako Morton, the former Leeward Islands captain, has been named in the Trinidad and Tobago squad for next month’s West Indies Cricket Board’s Caribbean T20 Tournament.

The 32-year-old right-hander was born in Nevis but now lives in Trinidad. Two months ago made the decision to make himself available for Trinidad and Tobago. Morton will come face to face with his old team-mates when the Trinis meet the Leewards in Antigua on Thursday, January 13 at 8 pm (7 pm Jamaica Time).

Windsor Park to debut as worlds newest Test venue in packed 2011 schedule

St John's, Antigua - Windsor Park in the Caribbean nature isle of Dominica will debut as the world’s newest Test venue in July 2011 when it hosts the Third Digicel Test between West Indies and India.
 
For the packed 2011 season of cricket in the Caribbean, West Indies will host Pakistan and reigning world Test champions India for a total of two Twenty20s, ten One Day Internationals and five Tests.

West Indies and Pakistan will clash from April 21st to May 24th in a T20, five ODIs and two Tests.

Guyana & Jamaica in mega clash for Caribbean T20 opener

St John's, Antigua - Reigning Caribbean Twenty20 champions Guyana and star studded Jamaica will clash in a mega feature encounter on the opening day of Caribbean Twenty20 2011 on January 10th at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Grounds in Antigua.
