T&T go down to NSW in Super Over

Chennai, India, CMC – Trinidad & Tobago once again sacrificed victory on the altar of defeat in another heart-breaking finish as they lost to New South Wales a one-over Super Over following a tie in the Champions League Twenty20 on Wednesday.

Ravi Rampaul conceeded up 16 from the final over in regulation match, as the New South Wales ninth-wicket pair of Moises Henriques and Patrick Cummins levelled the scores, replying to T&T’s 139 for six in the Group-A match at the Chidambaram Stadium.

T&T lose to Mumbai in heartbreaking finish

BENGALURU, India, Sep 26, CMC – Ravi Rampaul bowled impressively to take three wickets for 17 runs from four overs, inspiring a stirring Trinidad & Tobago fight-back, but Mumbai Indians out-lasted the Caribbean Twenty20 champions, winning by one wicket in a heart-stopping, low-scoring Champions League T20 match on Monday. The West Indies fast bowler earned the Man-of-the-Match award, as T&T obstinately defended a victory target of 99 in their opening group match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Simmons sweet on TT chances

BANGALORE, India, CMC – Attacking opener Lendl Simmons is backing Trinidad and Tobago to make an impact in the Champions League Twenty20, as they prepare to face powerful Mumbai Indians in their opening match of the tournament on Monday.

T&T breezed through their two-match qualifying series, topping Group B with a perfect record, to reach the main draw.

“I think we can go on very far in the tournament and even win it, once the players work hard,” said Simmons.

Red Force ready to stampede rivals

BENGALURU, India, CMC – Trinidad & Tobago arrived in the Garden City on Wednesday, looking ahead to roll over the Mumbai Indians in their first match of Group-A in the Champions League Twenty20 on Monday.

The Caribbean T20 champions topped Pool-B in the six-team qualification phase, and will now join the Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Cape Cobras, and New South Wales Blues in Group-A of the main draw.

WICB announces ODI & Test squads to Bangladesh

St John’s, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board announced the West Indies One Day International and Test squads for the tour to Bangladesh.

Denesh Ramdin has returned to both the ODI and Test squads while off spinner Shane Shillingford returns to the Test squad along with rookie opener Kraigg Brathwaite. Keiran Powell, the Nevisian left handed top order batsman has also been included in both squads as well.

Carlos Brathwaite, the Barbadian all rounder has received a call up to the West Indies ODI squad.
