Jamaica, Guyana get crucial wins

SCARBOROUGH, Tobago, CMC – Tagenarine Chanderpaul lashed his second consecutive half-century as Guyana racked up their second win of the West Indies Cricket Board's Regional Under-17 Championship with a convincing 163-run demolition of Leeward Islands on Wednesday.

Playing in the third round, Tagenarine, the son of Test star Shivnarine Chanderpaul, hammered the joint top score of 79 as Guyana piled up 250 for seven off their 50 overs at Bon Accord.

Badree gets nod for Florida T20s

ST JOHN’S, Antigua – Uncapped leg-spinner Samuel Badree has been called up for West Indies’ two-match Twenty20 series against New Zealand which bowls off next week in Florida, United States.

The 31-year-old Trinidadian, who has played 40 Twenty20s for Trinidad and Tobago, is the only new face in the largely predictable squad.

Cariah, Ottley credit club for HPC stints

PREYSAL, TRINIDAD - CLICO Preysal duo, Yannic Cariah, and Kjorn Ottley, have hailed the brotherhood and youth development at the Trinidadian club as influential in their grooming.

Due to this both Cariah and Ottley have earned themselves stints at the Sagicor High Performance Centre in Barbados where further development can take place.
