Touring Team, Green Army clash in Over-40 final

Port of Spain, Trinidad - The Central Trinidad Touring Team will face Green Arrow in the grand finale of the Mangalie’s Trading PVC Ceiling National Over 40 Twenty20 cricket tournament at Pierre Road, Charlieville, from 6.30 p.m. today.

The tournament is being held in memory of Ramsahai Mangalie and carries a first prize of $30,000.

Green Arrow defeated Tableland United by nine wickets in their semi-final match at Pierre Road on Thursday night to reach the final. In Thursday’s semi, Tableland United posted 156 for seven off their 20 overs with Lee Pulchan hitting an unbeaten 70.

Munesh Beepat was the best bowler for Green Arrow, gabbing two wickets for 17 runs. Green Arrow replied with 157 for one to clinch victory and earn a place in the final.

The Central Trinidad Touring Team beat Preysal Sports by 41 runs in their semi-final earlier this week to secure their place in the final. The runner-up in the competition earn $12,000 while the third-place team will walk away with $5,000 and the fourth-placed team $3,000. Preysal Sports and Tableland United will meet in the third-place play-off today from 3 p.m.
