TOSS - India bat in 2nd Test
KOLKATA, INDIA – TOSS – As the curtain rises on the 2nd Test match between hosts India and the West Indies; India won the toss and elected to bat first this morning at Eden Gardens.
The West Indies suffered an early setback as pacer Ravi Rampaul was forced out of the eleven with a stomach bug. He was replaced by fellow paceman, Kemar Roach. There was also some shifting at the top of the order as well as young Kieran Powell made way for fit-again Adrian Barath.
Because of the early start to the day, 9am in Kolkata, there is expected to be some moisture in the track which could help the fast bowlers early on. There could also be turn for the spinners as the match progresses though there is some grass on the track.
West Indies trail India 1-0 in the 3 Test series.
