Third day of Test lost to rain
Chittagong, Bangladesh – Play was called off due to rain for a second successive day without a ball being bowled in the first Test match between Bangladesh and the West Indies at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdury Stadium on Sunday.
There was rain late Saturday night and into early Sunday morning which affected the outfield, already water-logged after Saturday's showers.
Bangladesh were 255-4 in their first innings at stumps on the opening day on Friday after winning the toss, with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim unbeaten on 68 and Naeem Islam on eight not out. Off-spinner Marlon Samuels has been the West Indies most successful bowler with 2-69.
Play is slated to resume on Monday at 9 am (11 pm Sunday Eastern Caribbean Time/10 pm Jamaica Time). The second and final Test will be played at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka on Saturday, October 29.
