Theophile misses a century but puts Dominica in control over Grenada
ST.GEORGE’S, Grenada - Tyrone Theophile missed a century but lifted Dominica to a strong position against Grenada on the opening day of their second round match of the Windward Islands two-day tournament on Thursday.
Theophile scored 91 in a superb batting display that was the highlight of the day at the Beausejour Playing Field as Dominica made 251 all out.
Supporting knocks came from Giann Benjamin who was undefeated on 45 and Gelani Robinson who scored 38.
Grenadian pacer Nelon Pascal continues to be among the leading bowlers of the tournament with another five wicket haul.
Grenada, in their reply, were 49 for three at the close.
Over at the Lasagesse Playing Field, 13 wickets tumbled on the opening day and 269 runs scored.
St Lucia, batting first against St.Vincent and the Grenadines, were dismissed for 168 after Keddy Lesporis propped up their innings with a top score of 52 while young Taryck Gabriel contributed 28.
Alton Bubb grabbed five wickets and Kenroy Peters two.
At stumps, St Vincent and the Grenadines were 101 for 3.
