Tenelec U-15 tourney Berbice…Albion and RHT Farfan & Mendes into final; 10 wicket haul for Yadram

Georgetown, Guyana - Albion Cricket Club (ACC) and Rose Hall Town Farfan & Mendes (RHTF&M) pulled out all the stops in their respective semi final matches en-route to the final of the Tenelec Inc. Under-15, two- innings competition in Berbice.
Albion was sliding towards defeat against Police but was pulled back by Guyana Under-15 batsman Matthew Hardyal who held firm to see them home safely while RHTF&M was at their wits end to get the vital break through when Edinburgh seemed to be heading for victory.
Enjoying home advantage, Albion arrested Police by four wickets. Police batting first was bowled out for 90 in their first innings; Malcolm Mickle led with 33. Doing the damage with eth ball for Albion were fast bowler Vevakand Jagit 5 for 4 with off spinners Matthew Hardyal and Rishi Sookram snatching 2 for 12 each.
Albion fell for 103 in their first innings; Guyana Under-15 player Adrian Sukhwa top scored with 28. For Police, left arm spinner Steffon Anderson grabbed 5 for 18 and off spinner Kevin Sinclair with 4 for 23.
Police batting a second time did not fare much better than the first innings and was all out for 97; Anderson 45 and Sinclair 20 the leading run getters. Asif Ally picked up 5 for 34 and Sookram 3 for 16 for Albion.
Pursuing a target of 85 for victory, Albion slid to 45 for 6 and in danger of losing but Hardyal came to the rescue with an unbeaten 42 to guide his team to victory backed up by Manoj Kasinauth, 5 not out. Sinclair had 2 for 15 and Anderson 2 for 23.
At Rose Hall Town, RHTF&M got past Edinburgh by 19 runs. Rose Hall Town made 112 in their first innings; Kelon Anderson stroked N.O* Junior Sinclair 31. For Edinburgh leg spinner Wazir Latif collected 5 for 21 and off spinner Videsh Mangra 4 for 52.
In reply, Edinburgh was sent packing for 74 all; Roger Britton mustered 27. Bowling for RHT, off spinner and National Under-15 Captain Bhaskar Yadram snapped up 6 for 34 while fellow U-15 off spinner Veramootoo Senwansane had 4 for 26.
RHTF&M batting again posted 148 with Yadram contributing 46. For Edinburgh, Latif took 3 for 6 and leg spinner Joel Seitaram 3 for 46.
Set 187 to win the match, Edinburgh found themselves stuttering at 67 for 6 before Joel Seitaram and Seecharran tried a rescue act by putting on 60 for the seventh wicket but Seecharran fell for 35.
Seitaram and Videsh Mangra added another 30 for the 8th wicket to put Edinburgh in sight of victory. But with Seitaram going for 60 and Mangra 24, Edinburgh eventually fell for 167. For RHTF&M, off spinner Joshua Gobin snatched 5 for 21 and Yadram 4 for 50 to end with a 10 wicket match haul.
