Taylor thrilled with West Indies spirit

Port of Spain, Trinidad - Top female West Indies all-rounder Stafanie Taylor says the team spirit is good ahead of their opening match against England in Sylhet, Bangladesh today.

“I must say, I have never seen this spirit before and it is really, really good, Taylor told WICB media, yesterday. “I am actually loving it and I hope that we continue with this spirit that we have throughout the tournament.”

Taylor, recovering from an injury sustained on the New Zealand tour, said:”It ( the injury) feels a lot better..so it actually feels good to be back out there with the ladies.”

She added that winning their two warm-up matches gives them good momentum going into the first official match.

“The surface here is pretty good. I think you just have to take your time to get adjusted to the pitch but after that, I think you are kind of free to play your shots, “ she said.

Taylor said the West Indies women are ready to go all the way.

“I never doubted myself and I never doubted this team even from last year. I think we should have won then (ICC 50 overs) but that’s done and gone with and it (the trophy) is here for the taking and it’s just for us to actually grasp it, “ she said
