Scarborough, Tobago - Defending champions Sport Elite tasted defeat for the first time this season in the Tobago Cricket Association Two Day League over the weekend. The champs were beaten on first innings points by former champions C&B United.

Elite were undone by allrounder Marcus Daniel who grabbed eight wickets for 49 runs as they attempted to overhaul 178 for first innings. C&B’s total was built around a solid knock of 63 from Elton Cruikshank. Veteran player John Pollard was Elite’s best bowler with five for 58.

The game came alive as C&B were bowled out for 185 in their second innings; setting Elite 208 to win in 31 overs. In the end, Elite got to 164 for 7 before play was called off.

Elsewhere, Selvin Duncan notched his first century of the season but it was not enough to force a win for leaders Club Crusoe against Roxborough Ball Players.

Speyside recorded their first win of the season when they came from behind to beat Scarborough/Mason Hall. Trailing by 57 runs on first innings, Speyside rebounded with a better batting display in their second innings; then produced excellent skills with the ball in hand to win by 22 runs. And, Expendables also gained full points in their contest against Georgia who had a miserable weekend with the bat.
