South East whip Central

Port of Spain, Trinidad - South East whipped Central by 40 runs on Tuesday in their Second Round duel of the BGTT Under-19 Zonal Cricket Championships.

In their first innings on Monday, Central were dismissed for 138 while South East ended the day on 160/8, in first innings action, at the Sancho St Julien Ground. 

South East were eventually bowled out for 166 with Central, in their second turn at the crease, tallying 212 with Anderson Phillip unbeaten on 74 and Justin Joseph contributing 42. 

Justin Persad claimed 6/72 and Gerve Cummings 4/57 for South East. 

Chasing 186 to win, South East were dismissed for 145 with Kyle Lee getting 3/26 and Phillip 2/24. 

Brandon Jaggernauth top-scored for South East with 20. 

The other team to win on Tuesday was East, who hammered North East by 132 runs. 

At the Brooklyn Ground in Sangre Grande, East declared on 234/5 in their first innings and North East, resuming on 18/2, were bundled out for 89 with Kevon Jadoo grabbing 6/25 and Afdar Khan 3/27. Brandon Sooklal was the only bright spark with 29. 

Following on, North East did even worse, as they were skittled out for 76 with Jadoo snapping up 5/11. 

Darian Ramdin offered lone resistance with 26.

At Rousillac: SOUTH 231 and 300 (Justin Sankaran 94, Jyd Goolie 92; Kamron Bukhal 4/34, Keyron Ramlal 2/69) vs SOUTH WEST 191 (Joshua Clarke 51, Clevon Kalawan 61; Jordan Sankaran 5/55, Samuel Roopnarine 3/32) and 75/3 (J Clarke 27, Neven Garcia 17; Shane Smith 2/18). Match drawn.
