Shiv cuts tape for Swarkestone nets

This Is Derbyshire article.

DERBYSHIRE, ENGLAND - Derbyshire's West Indian star Shivnarine Chanderpaul is pictured with a large pair of scissors, ready to cut the tape to open Swarkestone Cricket Club's new nets.

Pictured with him are club chairman Dave Corner (left), local councillor John Harrison and a number of the club's junior players.

The £19,000 cost of the nets was helped by a £10,000 grant from Lafarge Aggregates, via the Environmental Trust, and further grants from the County Council (£2,000), East Midlands Airport (£750) and £1,000 in donations for the 100th birthday of club member Susie Dixon, which she requested went to the club.
