Georgetown, Guyana - Half centuries by Randy Wade, Shemar Flats, Titus Webster and K. Dhanraj and 11 and 10 wickets match hauls for Mahesh Ramroop and Rameshwar Somwaru highlighted latest play in the Shameer Baksh Memorial U-17 one day, two innings West Berbice Cricket.
Scores in the matches played: – At Bush Lot: Achievers beat Bush Lot by 6 wickets – Bush Lot batted first and scored 96 all out with Randy Singh making 30 runs.
Bowling for Achievers Titus Webster with 4 and Jermaine Nicholson 3 were the main wicket takers. Achievers in their turn at the wicket made 120 all out with Rishi Daniels scoring 32 and Nicholson 23. Bowling for Bush Lot, Bramdatt Singh snared 6, while Kris Ramnarine got 3 wickets.
In the second Innings, Bush Lot with a deficit of 24, declared at 104 for 5 in an effort to force a win with K. Dhanraj making 50. Webster once again was the leading wicket taker with 4 wickets. Chasing a target of 81, Achievers reached 83 for 4.
Singh and Ramnarine picking up two wickets apiece bowling for the losers.
At D’Edward: Berbice Bridge Company Blairmont whipped D’Edward by an innings and 117 runs. Batting first Berbice Bridge Company Blairmont compiled 200 for 9 declared with Shemar Flats hitting 63 (2×6, 4×4), Rameshwar Somwaru 23 and Asim Ally 23 not out.
W. Isaiah took 5 wickets bowling for D’Edward, who in reply were skittled out for 39. Doing the damage for Blairmont were Somwaru and Sachin Veersammy who picked up 4 and 3 wickets respectively.
Forced to follow on, D’Edward were bundled out for a meager 44 with Somwaru destroying the bowling with 6 for 8 to take 11 wickets in the match and Seon Glasgow supporting with 3.
At the D’Edward ground: Blairmont B won on first innings from D’Edward. The host batted first and reached 86 with S. Sugrim making 30 and C. Greenidge 20.
Bowling for Blairmont ‘B’ Roger Braithwaite took 5 wickets, while Imran Azeez and Talim Inshan supported with three and two respectively. Blairmont ‘B’ in their turn at the crease made 88 all out with T. Jailall 26 and Roger Baithwaite19.
Bowling for D Edward – I. Wilson, C. Greenidge and S. Sugrim took 2 wickets apiece. Batting a second time they made 67 all out. Inshan and Azeez snared three wickets for Blairmont B.
At Shieldstown: Blairmont B beat Shieldstown by 9 wickets. Shieldstown made 45 with Azeez leading the way with four wickets, while there were two apiece for Inshan, Brian Bridgelall and Braithwaite.
In reply Blairmont B made 66 all out with Totaram Jairam 17. Bowling for Shieldstown S. Razak and Saheed Busgit took 5and 4wickets respectively.
They in their second innings were skittled out for 31 all out with Braithwaite again being the destroyer with 5 for 6 and Imran Azeez taking 3. Needing to score 10 for victory Blairmont B reached 11 for 1.
At Cotton Tree: Achievers beat Cotton Tree by 153 runs. Batting first Achievers amassed 191 for 7 declared with Randy Wade top scoring with 77 (4×6, 8 X 4) with Titus Webster making 50. A. Leonardo picked up 4 bowling for Cotton Tree whom in reply were dismissed for 66 with Mahesh Ramroop taking 5 wickets.
In the second innings Achievers made 68 for 4 declared. Bowling for Cotton Tree A. Leonardo took 3wickets. They were then bundled out for 40 runs with Mahesh Ramroop taking 6 for 10 bowling for Achievers.
