Semi-finals to be contested on Sunday

Georgetown, Guyana - The historic Albion Community Centre CC will come alive on Sunday when the top cricket clubs in Berbice clash for a spot in the Namilco/Bakewell 20/20 knockout cricket tournament.
The semi-finals of the tournament will feature West Berbice, Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets, Universal Solutions Bermine and Albion Community Centre with several West Indies and national players involved.
Powerhouse Albion Community Centre will play defending champions of the Universal DVD 20/20 tournament, Universal Solutions Bermine in the first match at 09:00h while West Berbice and Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets play at 13:30h.
Albion will be spearheaded by the former West Indies duo of opener Sewnarine Chattergoon and all-rounder Devendra Bishoo and would be supported by national players Jonathan Foo and Anthony Bramble.
West Indies Under-19 player Gudakesh Motie, Kandasammy Surujnarine, Sharaz Ramcharran, David Latchaya and Veerapen Permaul are all recognised first division players in Berbice and will add strength to the Albion team that will be missing Narsingh Deonarine and Veerasammy Permaul.
Bermine’s efforts will be led by national opener Shemroy Barrington, former national junior player Devon Clements, Eugene La Fleur, Joemal La Fleur, Romario Shepherd and Anthony D’Andrade. The supporting cast includes wicketkeeper Hakeem Hinds, Damon Vantull, Nial Smith and Keon DeJesus.
West Berbice should be banking on a trio of pace bowlers to undermine the batting strength of Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets.
Former West Indies Test player Brendon Bess, national pacer Keon Joseph and the exciting Roun Johnson have created problems for batsmen lately and with support from Arthley Bailey, Krisndat Ramoo, Keith Fraser and Raffiel Estriado.
West Berbice recently reached the finals of the Universal DVD 20/20 cricket tournament where they lost to Bermine and will have to bring their A-game to defeat a Rose Hall town Gizmos & Gadgets that consist of West Indies Test player Assad Fudadin, ODI player Royston Crandon and national player Rajiv Ivan.
Dominic Rikhi, Eon Hooper, Jason Sinclair, Shawn Pereira, Clinton Pestano and Shailendra Shameer have all experienced either the Inter-County or national level and can be match winners also.
