Scotiabank Kiddy cricketers to debut at The Oval

Port of Spain, Trinidad– The Queens Park Oval is scheduled for even more excitement during the Second Digicel Pearls One Day International at the Queens Park Oval as young up-and-coming primary school cricketers from Trinidad and Tobago take centre stage for their big debut as part of the WICB Scotiabank Kiddy Cricket Programme for the spectacular International Interval Display.

Kraigg joins Kemar in graduating from Kiddy Cricket to Tests

Basseterre, St KittsOpening batsman Kraigg Brathwaite has joined fast bowler Kemar Roach as the two Scotiabank Kiddy Cricketers to play Test cricket.

Brathwaite, the 18-year-old Barbadian schoolboy, is making his debut against Pakistan in the Second Digicel Test at Warner Park and became the fifth youngest West Indies Test cricketer to do so.

Roach, the 22-year-old speedster, also from Barbados, made his Test debut in 2009 against Bangladesh in St Vincent and has made 12 Test appearances thus far.

Former Kiddy Cricketer is youngest MoM adjudicator

Gros Islet, St Lucia - Nineteen year old Dalton Polius is now the holder of the record for the youngest Man of the Match adjudicator in an international cricket match in the West Indies.

Polius, a St Lucian was the adjudicator in the Second Digicel ODI at the Beausejour Cricket Ground which Pakistan won.

He chose Ahmed Shehzad for his century as Pakistan won by 7 wickets, making 223 for 3 chasing West Indies’ 222 all out from 50 overs.

Zanaki Pierre interviews Mathurin for Kiddy Cricket Minute

Gros Islet, St Lucia– Kiddy Cricketer Zanaki Pierre got the opportunity of a lifetime to interview Windward Islands all rounder and St Lucia Vice Captain Garey Mahutrin for the newly launched Kiddy Cricket Minute.

The first in a series of interviews called the Kiddy Cricket Minute was launched at the Beausejour Cricket Ground during the First Digicel.

Pierre of the Grand Riviere Primary School interviewed Garey Mathurin and the 60 seconds interview was shown to fans on the replay screen at the ground during the lunch interval.

Scotiabank unveils new Kiddy Cricket Campaign

St John’s, Antigua– Scotiabank will be launching the new Kiddy Cricket Campaign “Let’s Grow The Sport” in the just commenced Digicel Series 2011 which runs through to July.

The campaign which includes television, radio and print ads as well as a 3 minute documentary which will be aired regionally features two West Indian cricket legends, wicketkeeper Jeffrey Dujon and fast bowler Joel Garner. Both legends have had the distinction of playing on the all star West Indian teams of the late 70s to early 80’s.
