Georgetown, Guyana - Tucville, South Ruimveldt, Thomas Moore and Smith’s Memorial Primary schools registered victories when play in the Georgetown District of the Scotia Bank Kiddy cricket nationwide festival continued yesterday at the Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda.
Tucville defeated St. Pius by 47 runs. Tucville took first strike and scored 85-9 off their allocation of 10 overs. Debra Roberts was their principal batter with 09 while extras contributed 12.
Gustauis Hutson, Oneil Carter, Shakira Williams and Melissa Pilgrim claimed two wickets each. St. Pius lost 10 wickets in scoring 38 off their allotted 10 overs in reply. Hutson made 09 while Randy Greene grabbed three wickets.
South Ruimveldt got the better of Enterprise by 53 runs. Enterprise batted first and managed 103-6 in 10 overs. Yohance Gomes top scored with 12 and Keiara Phillips snared 3 wickets. South Ruimveldt responded with 156-2 in 10 overs. Kemar Boyce stroked 15 and Kevon John 08 while extras assisted with 22.
Thomas Moore overcame St. Sidwell’s by 8 runs. Thomas Moore rattled up 138-5 in 10 overs. Extras led the scoring with 24 while Shemar Douglas picked up three wickets as St. Sidwell’s were restricted to 132-6 in 10 overs.
Extras again led the way with 15 and Kennard Babb made 08. Reshaun Benjamin and Alia James bagged two wickets apiece for the winners.
Smith’s Memorial went down to East La Penitence by 36 runs. East La Penitence posted 151-4 in 10 overs after taking first turn at the crease. Extras led all scorers with 20. Tyrese Singh scored 10 and William Mc Kenzie 07.
Smith’s Memorial in their turn at the crease were restricted to 115-9 in 10 overs. Extras topped with 40 while Joseph Hosannah, Carlos Cameron and Mc Kenzie bagged two wickets each. The competition continues today at the same venue.
