School’s cricket tour set for Barbados

Lancaster, England - Lancaster Royal Grammar School’s cricket tour leaves for Barbados on Thursday.

The school held a reception to thank the six local companies who have sponsored the kits, Ashlea Vets, T & S Bashall, City Block, D B & D Hilton, Lanes Vet Group and Metamark UK.

The junior and senior teams will be in Barbados for 12 days over the Easter holidays, the sixth LRGS trip to the Caribbean in the last 15 years.

Douglas Cameron, who led cricket at the school from 1958 to 1982, said: “It is a marvellous opportunity both to play in the Gordon Greenwich Tournament and sample of the way of life in the Caribbean.

“I am sure they will be excellent ambassadors and I wish them every success.”
