RHTY&SC holds annual awards ceremony April 27

Georgetown, Guyana - The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club (RHTY&SC) will hold its 24th annual awards ceremony on  Sunday April 27, 2014 at the St Francis Training Centre.

According to a media release from the club,a total of  40 awards will  be presented, including awards for the Cricketer of the Year; Female Cricketer of the Year; Worker of the Year; The Most Promising Player; and the Under-15  Player of the Year .

The main aim of the award ceremony,the release added, is to  inspire all  RHYT&SC members to aim for the highest standards ; to  elicit better performances from individual players; to achieve better results as a unit and to get  its members   to understand  their  responsibilities as role models.

The RHTY&SC was formed in in 1990 by the St Francis Community Developers  and has developed  into one of guyana’s leading cricket teams. The club has won over 40 major Berbice  cricket titles at all levels  and has produced one Test player; one ODI player and two female cricketers for the West Indies senior teams.  Further,the club has produced  six senior national cricketers; 23 national junior players and a total of 80 players for Berbice at all levels.Moreover,the RHTY&SC has won the Guyana Cricket Board’s Club of the Year award a record four times and the Berbice Club of the Year award, five times.
