Weather disrupts Super50 tournament

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Not a ball was bowled in the two Group-A matches on Friday in the Regional Super50 tournament.

This country’s notoriously fickle weather dumped several millimetres of rain on the capital, disrupting the competition and forcing both matches to be abandoned.

PROVIDENCE, Guyana, CMC – Their bowlers led by Krishmar Santokie set it up and the batsmen ushered Jamaica to a seven-wicket victory over Leeward Islands with a flourish in the Regional Super50 Tournament on Thursday.

Guyana suffer Chattas injury blow

Georgetown, Guyana - Guyana have suffered another major blow to their Regional Super50 campaign. Seasoned opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon suffered a shin injury and has been withdrawn from the squad. He has been replaced by Essequibian top order batsman Norman Fredricks.

GEORGETOWN, Guyana, CMC – Hosts Guyana began their quest for their first regional limited overs title in six years in devastating fashion, when they crushed hapless Windward Islands by 103 runs here Wednesday.

Playing at the National Stadium at Providence on the opening day of the Super50 Series, Guyana were dismissed for 192 after being sent in but then routed the Windwards for 72, after the visitors were set a revised target of 175 off 40 overs following rain during the interval.
