Rampersad bowls DX Files to win

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - Terrance Rampersad produced a match-winning bowling performance to help DX Files to a 13-run win over Amigos in their Round of 16 match of the Tunapuna Sport Movement 2013 Windball Cricket Tournament at Constantine Park, Macoya.

Rampersad came up big, capturing four wickets for five runs, as he ran through the Amigos batting line-up. They were eventually bowled out for 58, falling short of the victory target by 13 runs as only Mitra Ramkissoon with 17 offered any resistance. 

Earlier, DX Files were given a scare as they were bowled out for a mere 71 in their 15 overs with Hanooman Moonsammy making 19. Jeremy Mungroo was the chief destroyer with three wickets for 12 runs. 

DX Files were expected to meet Legacy in their quarter-final match after the latter got the better of Maxi Men by five wickets. 

Maxi Men, taking first strike, were bowled out for 89 with Marvin Timothy and Dillon Williams scoring 15 and 13 runs respectively. Sanjay Lahore was the main destroyer grabbing four for eight while Jodi Mungroo had three scalps for 11 runs. 

Legacy, in reply, reached 93 for five with Denzil Joseph making an unbeaten 23 while Mungroo chipped in with 19. Emmanuel James took two for 23 and Williams had one for 20. 

Meanwhile, PYCC defeated Out Cast by three wickets in their encounter. Out Cast, batting first, posted a challenging 114 with Marc Panchu making 25 and Emile Rajah 20. Jacob Larode had two for 15 and Joram Hardial had two for 17. 

In reply, PYCC reached 117 for seven as Daniel Balkaran led the way with 30. He received support from Rishi Bharathsingh and Verin Mohanlal with 13 and 10 runs respectively. Isiah Rajah had two for 17 and Roger Sookoo two for 20. They were expected to take on Petit Bourg Progressor who defeated Cousin by 78 runs in their match.
