Rain washes out Lone T20 International
Basseterre, St Kitts - Rain washed out the only Twenty20 International between West Indies and Bangladesh at Warner Park on Wednesday night.
The night started off as scheduled with Bangladesh winning the toss and opting to bat first. The visitors got off to a quick start scoring at well over six runs an over for the first four overs before a heavy shower came down.
In the 4.4 overs bowled, Bangladesh had rushed to 31/0 with both openers racing out of the starting blocks. Tamim Iqbal got to 11 from nine balls while Anamul Haque was a run-a-ball 19.
While Sheldon Cottrell had started solidly for the Windies, it was his opening partner, Krishmar Santokie that took the brunt of the blows. In Santokie's first two overs, he went for 18 runs. When Dwayne Bravo replaced him, the rains came down.
At approximately 10:44pm ECT, Umpires Peter Nero and Joel Wilson met and decided that the conditions were not fit for play.
