Rain affects opening of Windwards two-day tournament
ST.GEORGE’S, Grenada - Rain affected the opening day of the Windward Islands two-day cricket tournament which began Tuesday at separate venues in Grenada.
Heavy showers caused no play in the encounter between St.Vincent and the Grenadines and Dominica at the Beausejour playing field in North West St.George.
However there was play at the Lasagesse playing field after lunch in the game between Grenada and St.Lucia.
At stumps, St. Lucia reached 135 for 5 with Taryck Gabriel hitting the top score of 44.
There were also undefeated knocks of 38 by Keddy lesporis and 24 by Jason smith.
Pacer Nelon Pascal was the best bowler with three for 43.
