QPCC, Moosai battle to rare T20 tie
PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD - Defending champions Queen's Park Cricket Club and Moosai Sports battled to a rare tie yesterday in their Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board Premier Division Twenty20 tournament Group A match at the Queen's Park Oval.
In a match reduced to 15 overs because of rain that affected all the other matches yesterday, Moosai made 107 for nine. But this target proved far from simple to achieve as the Parkites also replied with 107--for four wickets off their 15. Queen's Park captain Justin Guillen got about half of his team's total with 53.
Conditions did not allow for a “Super Over” to be played.
Elsewhere, Hafeez Karamath Limited Aranjuez Sports completed an easy 48-run upset victory over Alescon Comets at Aranjuez Ground yesterday.
Aranjuez skipper Vikash Mohan top-scored with 59 as Aranjuez made 152 for eight off their reduced 14 overs. Comets could only muster 104 for eight in reply.
Meanwhile, Merry Boys won their second straight match of the competition to take the lead in Group A. They defeated Seenath's Auto Bamboo Sports by 11 runs in their reduced 12-over match at Diego Martin Recreation Ground.
Belcon hit 38 as Merry Boys posted 102 for four before Emile Rajah grabbed four for 17 to restrict Bamboo to 91 for seven.
In Group B F&E Diamond defeated Wanderers by default while the other two matches--PowerGen vs Clarke Road and Esmeralda vs Caldrac--were both abandoned due to rain.
