Bridgetown, Barbados - Psychiatric Hospital beat Mount Gay North Stars by 65 runs in their rescheduled last quarter-final of the 2013-14 BCA Sagicor General Shield championship at the SJPP ground today.
Chasing 207 to win in 36 overs, North Stars were bowled out for 141 in 35.2 overs.
Opener Damien Forde topscored with 32 off 49 balls including two fours.
Forde and Dario Leacock, who made 25, put on 63 in 14.3 overs for the first wicket but once they were parted, a collapse set in.
The last nine wickets tumbled for 76 runs in 20.2 overs.
Leg-spinner Kadeem Knight was the main wrecker with four for 23 off eight overs.
Alfred Alleyne picked up three for eight off 2.2 overs and fellow off-spinner Reco Headley, two for 31 off eight overs.
Left-hander Dario Leacock was caught at short midwicket by Roger Burrowes off Headley for 25 (63-1; 14.3 overs); Forde was brilliantly caught one-handed just inside the long-on boundary by Knight off Headley for 32 (65-2; 15 overs); Ian Broome was caught at deep mid-off by Rawdon Pope off Knight for eight (83-3; 19.4 overs); Alvin Campbell, advancing to drive, was given out leg before wicket off Knight for nought (86-4; 21.2 overs); Jefferson Gibbons, driving, was caught in the covers by Headley off Knight for 22 (107-5; 21 overs); Troy Toppin, cutting, was caught at the wicket by Gregory Gaskin off Knight for one (109-6; 28 overs); Samuel Skeete was stumped by Gaskin off Alleyne for four (120-7; 31.1 overs); Yearwood was bowled by Alleyne for 25 (133-8; 34 overs); skipper Kyle Carrington was bowled by Jamar Willoughby for ten (139-9; 34.3 overs) and James Brathwaite was caught and bowled by Alleyne for one (141 all out, 35.2 overs), leaving Shanell Griffith not out on one.
Psychiatric scored 206 for six off 36 overs after winning the toss.
Man-of-the-Match Willoughby topscored with 68 off 87 balls. He struck five fours and one six after reaching his half-century off 72 balls with four fours and one six.
Willoughby and Headley, who made 41 off 59 balls with three boundaries, added 120 in 23.3 overs for the third wicket.
The not out batsmen were Akeem Caddle on 17 and Knight, three.
Selvin Greenidge was run out for seven (42-1; 7.2 overs); his opening partner Burrowes was leg before wicket by off-spinner Campbell for 23 (42-2; 8.2 overs); Headley was well caught at long-off by Carrington off medium-pacer Yearwood for 41 (162-3; 31.5 overs); Willoughby was stumped by Gibbons off Yearwood for 68 (162-4; 32 overs); Gaskin was leg before wicket by pacer Skeete for nought (165-5; 32.3 overs) and Alleyne was bowled by Carrington for 16 (203-6; 35.3 overs).
Yearwood took two for 37 off three overs.
Psychiatric will clash with Dover in the semi-finals at Friendship next Sunday, January 26.
The winners will oppose Barbados Fire Service in the final at Kensington Oval on February 2.
