Bridgetown, Barbados - MPACT Pat Whittaker Pride recorded their third win in as many matches by 54 runs over Sagicor UWI Blackbirds who suffered their defeat in Series 4 of the Iris Walker Memorial Twenty20 tournament. on Sunday, February 9:

Once again overcast skies and moderate showers were in evidence at 3Ws Oval on Sunday, delaying the start of play for 32 minutes. This, however, did not daunt Pride who scored 122 for two off 20 overs after was sent in to bat.

Captain Pamela Lavine, the former Barbados and West Indies Women's player, led by example with the topscore of 49 not out off 48 balls including three fours, while Aaliyah A. Alleyne made 32 not out off 35 deliveries.

Blackbirds struggled to 68 for nine in their 20 overs with Alleyne completing a fine match by taking three for 12 off four overs.

The only double-figure contributors were Charlene Taitt (15) and captain Malissa Howard (ten).

Pride got off to another shaky start, losing both of their openers - Danielle Small (seven) and Savyair Byron-Toney (11) in the 5th and 7th overs with the score on 15 and 29.

The stylish Under-19 player, Alleyne and Lavine were in a fierce mood having intentions of sparing no bowler as they added 93.

Lavine played a gem of an innings rolling back the years as her teammates cheered her on in the pavilion running some cheeky singles, diving in on occasions as she went for the second run and sometimes pushing her partner to the limit.

Nothing daunted her as she played shots behind and in front of square on both sides of the wicket.

Blackbirds, minus West Indies Women's players Shakira Selman and Shaqauana Quintyne who are on tour of New Zealand, got off to another disastrous start, losing Brenda Maingot and Reshelle Griffith in the 1st and 5th over.

Taitt came batted most of the overs, and could only watch her teammate’s stumps being hit on most occasions, as she just could not help her partners stave off the aggressive bowling attack.
