Portmore Pines defeat Waterford by 69 runs

Kingston, Jamaica - Portmore Pines used their underdog status to good effect as they booted pre-tournament favourites Waterford by 69 runs in one of two semi-final games in at the Wray & Nephew White Rum Portmore Cricket Association (PCA) T20 Club Championships at the Bridgeport Sports ground last Sunday.

Damion Bryce topscored with 58, but it was Peat Salmon's all-round performance of 33 not out, a good spell of bowling in which he took 4-13, that swung the game into Pines' favour.

Scores: Pines 132-4 (20); Waterford 63 all out (16.1); Richard Johnson 18; Andre Bryce 3-12.

Pines' opponents in the final will be G.C. Foster, who easily defeated Ken's Wildflower by eight wickets. Scores: Ken's Wildflower 116-9 (20); Glen Wellington 29; Kirk Brooks 29; Odane Vassell 4-17; Sean Headlam 2-8; Terrence West 2-26. G.C. Foster 117-2 (17); Derval Green 83.

The final will be played tomorrow at 2 p.m. Ken's and Waterford meet at 10 a.m. for the third-place play-off. The PCA is appealing to all clubs to attend the final along with their family, to end off the season on an high.
