Port of Spain, Trinidad - Stephanie Ramcharan and Samantha Bissoon led Phoenix Women to the T&T Women’s Cricket Association (TTWCA) Sixes tournament crown on a rainy day at the Munroe Road Grounds, Cunupia on Sunday.

In the final against Technocrats, Phoenix posted a competitive 31/0 in its alotted four overs, as Bissoon (19 not out) and Britney Cooper (eight not out), both national players, remained unbeaten at the wicket.

Stacy-Ann King, another national player, fought hard in response, scoring an unbeaten ten, but Ramcharan took 2/4 to limit Technocrats to 23/2, as Phoenix prevailed by eight runs.

Earlier, 12 teams competed in four groups of three, with the top two teams in each group advancing to the quarterfinal stage. Phoenix lined up along Players Sports Club and San Rafael in Group A.

After winning both of its group matches, Phoenix easily got past Achievers in the quarters by five wickets. It was another one-sided affair in the semifinal for Phoenix.

Bowling first, Ramcharan snatched two wickets to reduce Moosai to a dismal 9/3. Phoenix got to the target without the loss of a wicket, only taking seven deliveries.

Ramcharan finished the tournament as the leading wicket-taker with five scalps. Phoenix ended the tournament with a perfect record, winning all five of its matches.

King finished with the most runs (57) and the highest individual (31 not out) score in the competition, while Moosai’s Leah Hosein had the best bowling figures, taking two wickets for two runs against Achievers.
