Notts claim Barbados T20 crown
BRIDGETOWN, BARBADOS - Nottinghamshire gained a pre-season confidence boost as they fought off competition from five other county sides to secure the Barbados T20 Cup.
Mick Newell’s side thumped Derbyshire by seven wickets in the final, with Michael Lumb, Alex Hales and James Taylor contributing respective scores of 35, 33 and 32 to a successful pursuit of 115 completed with more than six overs to spare.
Notts had earlier defeated semi-final opponents Yorkshire by five wickets, while Derbyshire - who qualified for the last four as a best first-round loser - gained revenge for their earlier defeat to LV= County Champions Warwickshire with a narrow two-run triumph.
In the plate final, Hampshire squeezed to victory in a low-scoring clash with Northamptonshire.
